DiscoverDance Class Descriptions

​Forte follows the DiscoverDance curriculum for our 4 - 5 year old dancers, focused on early childhood dance education. We are dedicated to teaching the developing child FIRST, the dancer second. Through this lens, we meet every child’s individual needs at their developmental stage.

Movement and concepts will be age appropriate, even for students of this age who have previous experience. Our curriculum builds on the basics and proper technique with a focus on repetition of movement and skills which is key to progression. DiscoverDance classes allow even the youngest of dancers to learn core dance disciplines within a 45-minute class.

Discover Ballet

Your little ballerina will love this class! From the moment they walk into the studio, we will be stretching, skipping, pointing and learning the basics of ballet, all while having fun! This class will also focus on musicality to improve overall coordination. 

Discover Baton

This class is designed for the tiny twirler or future majorette! Students will stretch, dance and begin twirling baton. We will learn the basic twirls, fun acro-dance moves and work on teamwork. Baton twirling blends musicality and hand-eye coordination.

Discover Acro

In this class students will focus on flexibility and learn the proper technique and foundations for skills like handstands, cartwheels, balances and more. This class is fast-paced, fun and will keep your little one moving and learning! 

Discover Dance

This class is perfect for the tiny dancer! In this class, students will stretch, dance and work on creative movement. We will learn basic combinations and focus on dance teamwork. This class is a great movement foundation class to improve rhythm and coordination. 

Discover Hip Hop

Hip hop is excellent for young dancers because of it's energetic and engaging nature. The rhythmic essence of hip hop helps develop motor skills through age-appropriate movements and music. This class fosters creativity and self-expression.
